I started experimenting with instant Polaroid photos back in 1976. For example, I dissolved the emulsion in warm water, maltreated or painted over the surface of pictures. I was able to exhibit the results for the first time in 1977 at the annual "Zürcher Künstler in den Züspahallen" exhibition. The renowned art critic Fritz Billeter referred to my pictures in a review in the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper at that time as "culinary”.

Today, I have started experimenting once again, not least because a successor to the SX-70 film is being produced. Whenever I have the time, I enlarge the instant photos from my collection.
In reportage photography, the area of work I specialize in today, manipulating images is taboo. All the more reason why I enjoy finding out what is possible or impossible in a field that offers greater creative scope.
